How To Install Your Custom Blog Design

First: Thank you for using my blog design!

Second: These are instructions for a Custom Blog Design. I will email you the appropriate image files and html code as indicated in these steps. Please refer to your email when following these directions. Your blog design can be installed without saving or changing any image files. They have been sent to you for ease in future changes that you may wish to make.

Important info about sidebar items (widgets): I have added many widgets into the template to avoid your sidebar items from being deleted. Please still save your widget list or special links, photos, lists, etc prior to installing blog design just in case. Widgets included in your design are:
profile
“about me” html box
blog archive
blog roll
10 images
3 text boxes

3 link lists
3 text lists
8 html/java

Directions:

1. BLOG TEMPLATE:

  • Highlight and Copy the complete HTML code from your email.
  • Open your blog in your blogger.com dashboard.
  • Click on the Layout tab.
  • Click on the Edit HTML link underneath the Layout tab.
  • Select the current HTML code and delete it. Paste your complete HTML code into the Template box. (Note: Deleting the existing code will not compromise your blog.)
  • At the bottom of the page, select Save Template.

2. BLOG BANNER:

  • Highlight and Copy the header image link from your email.
  • Open your blog in your blogger.com dashboard.
  • Click on the Layout tab.
  • Click on the Page Elements link underneath the Layout tab.
  • In the top header box, click Edit.
  • In the corresponding popup box, paste the header image link in the box titled “From the web”
  • Click on the button titled “Instead of title and description”
  • Save your header

3. SIDEBAR EXTRAS:

  • For each sidebar extra: Highlight and Copy the individual sidebar image link from your email.
  • Open your blog in your blogger.com dashboard.
  • Click on the Layout tab.
  • Click on the Page Elements link underneath the Layout tab.
  • In the side column, click Add a Gadget.
  • In the corresponding popup box, click to “Add a Picture”
  • Uncheck “Shrink to Fit” first
  • Paste the sidebar image link in the box titled “From the web”
  • Leave the rest of the boxes blank
  • Save your sidebar extra

4. “ADD THIS” EXTRA:

  • For each “Add This” extra: Highlight and Copy the “Add This” HTML code from your email.
  • Open your blog in your blogger.com dashboard.
  • Click on the Layout tab.
  • Click on the Page Elements link underneath the Layout tab.
  • In the side column, click Add a Gadget.
  • In the corresponding popup box, click to “Add HTML/Java”
  • Paste the “Add This” HTML code in the correct box
  • Change the title of the box to “Add this to your blog”
  • Save your “Add This” extra

To change your blog design

All of the files of your blog design will be emailed to your in a zipped folder. To alter any of the files, open them in Adobe Photoshop (version 7.0 or later). Locate the layer of the file which you wish to change (text, etc). Enter your changes. Save the file, then upload it to the internet and replace the image link where appropriate according to the instructions above.
