I’m buying a new sewing machine!

Written by Jannypie on Mar 27th, 2009 | Filed under: Sewing, craft

Husband and I have agreed to invest in a new sewing machine this weekend! I picked my top two based on the highest user reviews for my price range. I’m only an intermediate sewer, so super-fancy isn’t in the budget, but I definitely need to upgrade from the Mighty Mender!

I will most likely get either this one:

Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions

or this one:

Brother XL-3750 Convertible Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Quilting Features

I really don’t think I need all the stuff on the top one, the second might be more “my level”. But I am ga-ga over the auto-threading features and wide sewing table attachments on both!!!

and my new spring accessory, the “buttercup bag” from a free pattern on madebyrae, which i made from a $5 thrift store wrap skirt purchased yesterday.

the skirt was lined with matching fabric- perfect for the lining of the purse. there was easily enough material remaining for two more bags

i used the tie from the wrap skirt to make a strap
